TRIPS: MONUMENTAL TUDELA.

Tudela is, with approximately 30.000 inhabitants, the second city of Navarrese in population and the capital of the Riverside. It is located in the right margin of the River Ebro, in a crossroad of roads, what explains the acquired relevance from old for a city in which those cohabited Christian cultures, Arabic and bean during several centuries. The vestiges of these cultures have left a print in their monumental art.

Of the religious architecture, the cathedral it constitutes the most valuable jewel in the rich monumental patrimony of Tudela. It is located in the Old Helmet whose labyrinthine streets hide corners of unusual beauty, and it was built among the XII and XIII centuries the Muslim mosque had been previously in the locus in quo. In the one cathedral group highlights the spectacular Cover of the Trial, the one cloister románico, diverse chapels among those that the one consecrated stands out to Sacred Ana (s. XVIII) for their profuse Baroque decoration and the tower of three bodies risen among the XVII and XVIII centuries.

The architecture tudelana is completed with the churches of the Magdalena (s. XII), San Nicolás of Bari (s.XVIII, with eardrum románico previous), San Jorge the Real one (s. XVII), Santa Teresa of Jesus (s. XVII) and of the one I Associate of the teaching (s. XVIII) and the Carmen's convents (s. XVII), those Dominique (s. XVII), Nasturtiums   (s. XVIII) and Clarisas (s. XVIII).

Regarding the civil architecture, they deserve to be mentioned:

  1. The Square of the Jurisdictions (s. XVII) whose use like I sew taurine between 1700 and 1842 it is remembered in diverse scenes represented in those facades that demarcate it.
  2. The House of the Clock that he/she presides over the aforementioned square.
  3. The palace of the Deán (s. XVI).
  4. The palace of the Marquis of Huarte (s. XVIII) with a spectacular one Baroque stairway.
  5. The palace of San Adrián's Marquis (s. XVI) Renaissance.
  6. The Admiral's house, Renaissance (s. XVI).
  7. The house of the Ibáñez Moon (s. XVI).
  8. Castell Ruiz (s. XVII), old patio of the school of the Company of Jesus, today Cultural Center.
  9. The bridge of 17 arches on the Ebro (existent before the dominance Muslim and reformed in the XIII century).
  10. The Tower Monreal, built probably in the century IX and reformed in the XIX and XX centuries.
